Continue reading »]]> It’s nearly that time of year again for the Edinburgh Festival when there’s so much to do and see in the city. But one thing you shouldn’t miss is the chance to see the Westend Fair in the grounds of St.John’s Church on the corner of Lothian Road and Princes Street. It truly is a unique event which brings together some of the finest contemporary arts, crafts and design-work from across the UK in one glorious open air venue.

With over 100 makers, the fair is full of unique stalls selling products you won’t find on any high street. Enjoy a few hours browsing: you’ll find stunning jewellery, furniture, tempting fashion, accessories and homeware beautifully crafted in glass, wood, metal, textiles as well as art, photography and much more.

This will be my 4th year in a row exhibiting at the fair and as usual I will be there during the first week from Saturday 6th to Sunday 14th August. As I am now full time self employed I will have a selection of new pieces and expanded ranges as well as one off pieces. So come to the show, enjoy a fun day out and treat yourself to a unique piece of contemporary jewellery.

Continue reading »]]> Artifex Gallery in Sutton is a fantastic 3000 square foot gallery which is split into a variety of spaces including the furniture gallery, a gallery devoted to painting and of course a separate space for it’s contemporary jewellers.

My jewellery was stocked there last Christmas and was well received so they now have my work again in time for Christmas. They have a selection of my frame layered and rollered frame with gold leaf collections. Each piece is individually handmade and due to the technique involved no two pieces are the same.

Continue reading »]]> I have a new stockist in Perth – the Tayberry Gallery I have provided them with a mix of my one off pieces and some less expensive pieces.

Yesterday I popped through to visit it for the first time and it was really nice space and good size filled with lovely contemporary applied art. Including Jewellery, prints, glassworks, textiles and handmade gorgeous wooden tables.

Continue reading »]]> The next big show I am doing is the Royal Highland Show at Ingliston. Last year my stall was right at the entrance to the 3D2D Marquee. This year I am about 3/4 of the way up the tent.

Last year Alan and I were pretty overwhelmed by the number of people all day long every day – it was so much fun. I also started showcasing my wedding jewellery at the event. It was also the first time I got to use my credit card machine which arrived the week before! I have not yet decided all the pieces I will take, but I did get some work back from galleries to make sure I have loads to choose from.

Continue reading »]]> Thanks to all who came to the show that myself and Islay Spalding organised. It was a great success with many visitors and most exhibitors made great sales and contacts. Hopefully this will be the start of something great between the artists, designers and crafters of Dundee and local areas.
