Terms and Conditions - Genna Delaney Jewellery Artist

Stock levels

Every single piece in stock on this website is available to buy, I will aim to post the item/s to you within 3 working days following payment being made, this may not always be possible. Please contact me before ordering if you require an item for a certain date so I can confirm I will be able to post it in time. Any pieces which are “out of stock” but available for back order (pre-order) will be handmade especially for you and can take between 3-6 weeks to be made and dispatched. Commission/bespoke items will be made to order so please allow between 4-8 weeks making time. Specific timing of your bespoke piece will be discussed with you at our consultation.

If you require something sooner please contact me before ordering, the chances are I will be able to help you!

At times there may be a difference between what I have in stock and what is on the website, I will endeavour to keep it as up to date as I can and will offer a refund if you purchase anything that is out of stock and you don’t want to wait for it to be made again or if I no longer make the item.

I hand make every single piece on this website. Some elements of my Component and 3d printed collection are cast but also have handmade elements. All of this is done in the UK.

What is a bespoke or commissioned piece of jewellery?

A bespoke or commission is any piece of jewellery ordered from me which is customised or personalised in any way. This includes, but is not limited to, textures of the metal, extra plating, different types of chain, addition of stones, and changes of metal type. All customisation and personalisations cost extra on top of the piece of jewellery. Please ask if you wish to know more about my design charges or other additional costs.

A 50% deposit must be paid to confirm any bespoke item. Once this has been paid the order cannot be changed. Should you wish to cancel the order after the deposit is paid I will not be able to refund this. Any remaining payments must be paid and cheques cleared before goods are dispatched. Postage is not included in the cost of bespoke items, this will be added to your balance invoice.

Bespoke/commissioned items are non-refundable and non-returnable.

I have endeavoured to make the postage prices clear and simple on my website but I have not run through every possible combination of items in a basket for every country and therefore reserve the right to add additional postage based on what I am charged by Royal Mail and/or other courier companies.

If you don’t live in the UK please get in touch for an idea of the price of postage to where you are. It will depend on the value of the item you’d like to buy and I will aim to make it a simple and hassle free process for you.

Each piece of jewellery is made by me, either by hand or from assembled cast elements designed by me and cast in the UK. These pieces may differ slightly from photographs on this website as variation of size, shape and surface texture may occur as each piece is hand made. I also source limited edition or rare gemstones so each piece can differ in cut, shape, size and colour. All pieces have a guarantee against manufacturing flaws, meaning I will repair them for free if you receive them broken, excluding postage costs. Manufacturing flaws include dry solder joins which are easy for me to distinguish. This this do not include general wear and tear, plated pieces (or sections of pieces), or misuse or mistreatment of items. Please contact me before sending items for assessment and return them using Royal Mail Special Delivery to ensure the items have the correct insurance, the customer will pay all postage costs incurred.

Care for your jewellery

It should be the last thing to go on with your outfit and the first thing you take off. Do not wear jewellery in the shower, do not expose it to bright sunlight, do not go swimming or do sports whilst wearing your jewellery. Do not spray perfumes on or near your jewellery. The oils in skin and sweat can affect the metals in your jewellery. To keep it looking it’s best, give it a regular rinse with warm water. If it is tarnished use some washing up soap and warm water and kitchen paper to clean, do not use abrasive materials, these will scratch the surface of your jewellery. Matte items can be washed with a soft toothbrush. You should avoid getting oxidised areas of jewellery wet or cleaning them as this will take off the oxide plating.

I do offer a cleaning and replating service to maintain your jewellery. These services are charged extra.

I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have, please contact me.

I am very happy to accept and ship international orders. It is a minimum of £20 postage per parcel which covers up to £250 and between £50-60 postage for items up to £2500 and will be shipped by secured Royal Mail, by Airmail. Shipping can take from 7 working days up to 28 days, depending on the country it is going to. Possibly longer during busier postal periods.

* Goods above £150 may be checked at customs which could incur extra customs duties / fees, VAT (I am not VAT registered). Customer is liable to pay any extra fees if customs request.*

All pieces come in a luxury printed, eco gift box with gift bag, in a secured padded envelop.

Payment must be paid up front in full before a piece can be shipped. I accept payment by Paypal and bank transfer and must be paid in £. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss other payment options.

Refunds and exchanges

Bespoke orders/commission work – I do not accept exchanges, refunds or returns of bespoke orders. But if your item is damaged on arrival, I can repair it for you. I do not accept refunds as every piece is individually handmade, variation of shape and texture may occur. If you have ordered a bespoke ring in the wrong size you will be charged for resizing.

Then post it back to: 47 Tay Street, Tayport, DD6 9BH. To get an exchange you must respond and send back the item within 30 days of purchase. Items must not have been worn and must not be damaged in any way to get an exchange. Genna Delaney Jewellery is not liable for loss of goods by the customer, during the exchange process. Customer is liable for return postage and postage of new item to them. If it is cheaper than the previous item, you will be issued with a credit note to use online which will be processed within 5 days of receiving the exchanged item. You have a year to use this credit note.

Can't thank you enough it was exactly as we asked for and a lot more x better start saving for the Eternity ring you're going to be making next for June .... a very happy couple xx

My family bought me a voucher for a 1:1 workshop to make a silver ring for my Birthday. Genna's workshops are informative in the process of jewellery making and good fun. Genna has a lovely teaching style.

Best of all you go home with a beautiful ring you made.

I would definitely do another workshop and if I could give Genna 10 stars I would. Thank you.

Picked up my Wedding Ring today and words can't describe how happy I am. It looks amazing. Few wee (happy) tears on the way home. Thank you so much. p.s. thank you from my "Mum" too xxx

Genna design recently carried out a repair on my wife's engagement ring. I could not fault Genna's workmanship and the cost of the repair was very competitive. I would not hesitate to return in the future.

I had a fantastic time on Saturday, thanks Genna for being patient. Love my ring. Robert asked what I was making next so I might be back. Thanks once again for a great day x

Had a lovely day with Genna making our wedding rings! What a great touch to add to our special day! Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to make their wedding rings, more than just a ring!

Stephanie 2018

Genna created my engagement and wedding ring and they are absolutely beyond perfect! She really took her time at the initial consultation and went over all of the tiniest details - when we got the pictures of the finished rings I was totally blown away - they were exactly what I had pictured in my head, if not better!!

Genna, it was lovely to meet you last evening and I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for the beautiful necklace. It is truly gorgeous. What a talent you have. I've not taken it off since last Thursday! I was even wearing it for Crufts all weekend!

Keep following your dream!

Jenny Campbell 2018

As Alison and Ron’s neighbours we have witnessed first hand this special and devoted love and the beautiful commission pieces you made reflect beautifully their enduring love . Alison wears them with humble pride.

Today my mother enjoyed her Christmas treat from us – a four hour ring making class with jeweller Genna Delaney. She totally loved it and has made a wonderful ring. She reckons Genna is a natural teacher. As a former head teacher she’s good at spotting such talents. If you want to learn jewellery making then Genna is the person to see!

Prof Mike Press

Whoah this blog is fantastic. I love reading your posts. Keep up the good work! You know, a lot of people are searching around for this information, you can aid them greatly.

I'm over the moon with my ring! Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful piece which means so much to me. I absolutely love it.

Irene 2018

Genna has lots of lovely jewellery to buy. The best things are bespoke though. She made me a few unique items using much loved heirlooms and updating them.
